How does the newly decreed State of Alarm affect nautical?
The measures in accordance with the provisions of article 10.3 of Royal Decree 463/2020 declaring the state of alarm for the management of the health crisis situation caused by COVID-19, sports activities are prohibited, among others. -Recreatives related to regattas or tests and nautical exhibitions.
But does it also affect private sailing?
Regarding private recreational navigation, and although it is not explicitly mentioned, it is understood, by extension, that it is not allowed, since circulation on public use roads is prohibited in order to carry out this activity (which marine sports clubs and nautical facilities in general would be considered). Those who contravene this measure would be subject to the sanctioning regime established in the Royal Decree, with fines that could reach up to € 600,000.
