SHOEMAKER TO YOUR SHOES (07/01/20)
We never get used to receiving calls from worried owners because they cannot find this or that documentation of the ship, or because a few months ago someone promised to manage any procedure and they have not yet received a single document to navigate.
When asked who did the management, the answer is usually the same: the sailor, the mechanic, the kid of the club or the navy, or even the same inspector of the ITB (whom has a legal prohibition to carry out procedures for its clients ).
And we find it surprising that these situations are constantly repeated.
Normally we usually fix it by making inquiries, recovering paralyzed procedures or obtaining duplicates of the complete documentation of the ship, but after the time we contemplate with discouragement that the same situation returns.
What is the reason for this happening? We should learn that mere trust in someone does not give him the ability to perform certain jobs, or to advise properly.
The reason given by these non-professional people is a supposed economic saving of the "management" expenses for the owner, without realizing that this incomplete management or that erroneous advice that he has given to his friend, boss or client will cost him a lot more than the cost of the process performed by some professionals.
Often the damage is twofold, when a sale operation is spoiled due to lack of documentation, or when for that lack of documentation or permits the owners incur a sanctioning file - which usually entails large fines.
To avoid these situations, we, professionals constantly update our knowledge and procedures adapting them to the law in force, informing you of the changes that may affect your ship, keeping a record of all the expiration dates that affect the ship and notifying you with a prudent time in advance , keeping a copy of all the documentation that is generated related to the boat and anticipating even your activity, if it is the charter for example, asking for the corresponding permits so that you can start working as soon as the season starts without losing a day ... In addition, Always, always, we offer you free advice on any questions you may have, as our clients already know.
Do you really need more reasons?
